We have just got back from a great trip to Cairo, Egypt with the British Council.

Our lead consultant, Stirling Wood, has just returned from a week-long visit to Cairo to explore opportunities for the British Council in the TVET sector in Egypt. He met with a wide range of stakeholders, including Government officials, regulatory authorities, public- and private sector higher education institutes, TVET providers, and donor organisations.

Stirling said, "I first went to Cairo, for work, in 2013. I was really excited to go back and see the difference between then and now. I wasn't disappointed! Progress has really been made in the intervening years and it was great to see the enthusiasm and joy at the prospect of working with the British Council from all the stakeholders we met".

A lot of stakeholders had assumed that because of the UK's exit from the EU, the British Council was no longer eligible to bid for, or deliver, TVET projects and programmes on behalf of the EU and with EU funding. They were delighted to hear that this is not the case, and that the British Council can, indeed, deliver EU-funded TVET programmes around the world.
