As part of the implementation of a Technical Competency Framework we developed for an oil & gas operator last year, we have been asked by Knowledge Grid LLC to return and work on the assessment of staff against the framework by training selected staff as Internal Assessors.

To this end, Stirling, our lead consultant, spent 5 days in the desert working with the end-client's excellent staff to train them on assessment principles and the assessment methodology specifically created for them - based on International best practice.

Of the trip in to oilfields Stirling said, "We were able to train 14 staff, over 4 days. And what a great bunch; they were engaged, enthusiastic, and really responsive to the training given. I have no doubt they'll make excellent internal assessors, and we'll be there the whole way through their journey, supporting them as they go".

The next phase is to demonstrate to the remaining staff how to carry out the first phase of assessment - the self-assessment audit of their current skills. We very much look forward to working with both Knowledge Grid and their end-client on the rest of the project. If this first venture in to the field is anything to go by, they are in a great place and the rest of the project will be a huge success for them.
