Continuing our update...
We spent nearly five months in Bahrain during 2022, helping the Bahraini Government establish a Skills Agency for the development of a coherent TVET system.
The work involved capacity and capability building of staff in producing quality LMI, and developing their employer engagement ability. We trained and developed Associate Directors and their staff in the Manufacturing, Logistics, Education, Healthcare, Travel, and Tourism sectors; meeting with dozens of employers directly to understand their skills needs, gaps and shortages. We gained fascinating insights in to these industries across Bahrain, and their importance to the economy of the Kingdom.
In addition, our Lead Consultant, Stirling Wood, worked behind the scenes to develop systems and processes to support the long-term sustainability of the project once we exited the Kingdom.
We hope we left the organisation better equipped to carry out the important work of gathering baseline LMI, and well-positioned to turn that LMI in to strategic advice and guidance for the Government in their attempts to build a functioning TVET system for the Kingdom.
